Sedimentary data from storm fan on Phra Thong Island, Thailand
Three sediment cores were collected from a storm fan on Phra Thong Island, Thailand. Each sample was analysed for sedimentological characteristics prior to treatment (Untreated) and after treatment with HCl and H2O2. Each sample was analysed on a Malvern Mastersizer 2000 after 60 seconds of sonication. The Malvern Mastersizer determines distributions of grain size fractions and this data is captured in the sheets for each core as "distributions". The distributional data are then run through the Gradistat program and the results reported in the Folk and Ward terminology. This data is found in sheets as "GS". Heavy minerals were also counted as a proportion of total grain (%) for each core and reported in the Untreated_GS sheet.
